I decided to set up SSH on my Raspberry Pi and was running into login troubles. Specifically, every time I attempted to login, I was getting this error whe I logged in with
debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey, password

Permission denied, please try again.
I walked the sshd_config file up and down with no luck. As it turns out, my keyboard mapping was off; I discovered that my password WAS different because my Apple USB keyboard didn’t have the “special” characters mapped correctly. When I fixed the password ssh worked like a charm.
Just a heads up if you have a Raspberry Pi and cannot get SSH to work.
